The Industry Doesn’t Need More Opinions. It Needs More Mentors.

The flooring industry has plenty of opinions. What it needs more of are people willing to invest their time in someone else’s growth.

There is an incredible amount of knowledge held by the installers, contractors, business owners, trainers, and industry professionals who have spent decades learning this trade. That experience is valuable, but its real impact comes from what happens when it’s shared with the people coming up behind them.

In this episode of The HuddlePaul, Daniel, and Jose talk about what real mentorship looks like and why it’s different from simply telling someone what they’re doing wrong. They discuss the patience it takes to teach, the importance of allowing younger professionals to make mistakes and learn from them, and the responsibility experienced people have to help develop the next generation.

It’s easy to criticize from the sidelines. Mentorship requires you to step in, share what you know, and stay long enough to help someone improve.

If we want better installers, stronger leaders, and a healthier flooring industry in the future, we can’t just keep talking about what needs to change. Someone has to be willing to teach the people who will change it.
